A Hunting We Will Go...

A couple of months ago, Scott and I made a deal with each other. If he would sing in church, then I would have to shoot a deer.

He held up his end of the bargain and sang a beautiful duet with Mark Brown...they actually sang a song they sung together in our wedding. "Listen to Our Hearts", by Phillips, Craig and Dean.

So, it is my turn...

I have been hunting twice this week. The first day I saw four deer, but couldn't get a shot at any of them. The second day, I shot and missed...boy was I mad! I am so competitive that I am determined to get out there again soon and get one!

Don't tell Scott, but I actually enjoyed myself!

And for all of you animal lovers out there, if makes you feel any better... we eat what we kill or we donate it to Hunters for the Hungry.

To Grammy's House

I let Seth know he was going to Grammy's house after the ball game. He packed his bag with his cars, blanket, and he grabbed a DVD. He had all he needed right there.

Clemson vs. NC State

My Mom and Grandmother came up for the Clemson/NC State game. Seth was super excited about going to the ball game and he was determined to dress himself.

He decked himself out in "Tiger paw" clothes (as he calls it), cow boy boots, and his gun. :) He even picked out his socks! The boy is a genius... what can I say?

You can see that he eventually got an appropriate out fit before we left and he didn't put up too much of a fight. He had a blast at the game!

Old Pictures

Yesterday, we were sitting at our table having lunch and Seth noticed a bunch of pictures that I have in my china cabinet. I have a shelf full of old black and white pictures of great grandparents, grandparents, my parents and Mimi, and some newer black and whites of the family now.

Seth was asking me who each person was...some unfortunately he will never meet until Heaven. He wanted to know each person's name and he would hold each picture and study it... very sweet.
Well, we got to the current family section....

He took one look at the picture and said..."Dat you Mommy!" and he was right!

It must be those chubby thighs that gave it away! ha

He thought the following picture was himself... and it was his Daddy.

Scott loves that the boys favor him!

Then repeatedly I told Seth the following picture was Nana and Papa. I also have a picture of Papa in his naval uniform...but Seth would not accept my answer.

He kept telling me..."No, dat Bwent." (My brother Brent, does favor Papa)

Seth Quote of the Week

Okay I have two...

The other night we were praying and we go through our little prayer together...
Dear Jesus,
I praise you
I am sorry to you
I thank you
and I love you.

Then I let Seth say what he wants...it is always sweet and different stuff, various friends, and family members.

But the other night was too cute, not to blog...

Me: "ok, Seth your turn."

Seth: "Thank you Jesus for mis-sha-marys. "(Missionaries) "Thank you for In-di-na." (India)...Scott and I are headed there on a mission trip soon. And "Thank you for Wal Mart."

I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. I loved his sweet prayer for missions and then his hilarious prayer for Wal Mart!

Being a Mom is so cool!

Last weekend

Last weekend was an incredible weekend. We had Disciple Now at church, and I had the privilege of leading the 11th and 12th grade girls. It was a lot of fun, and I saw a lot of youth surrendering their will for God's will. Pretty cool!

And I got to end the weekend by seeing two of my dear friends. Eddie and Greg!!! They are close friends from back in my pageant days. It was like old times and we always just pick up where we left off. They came to church and we got to have lunch. Thanks for making the trip guys! Bring Margaret and the GC crew next time!

To the Park

We had such great weather last week! We took the boys to the park on Friday, so we could try to squeeze as much outside time in as possible. I know it will get too cold soon!

Deuteronomy 6

Scott has Fridays off and it is one of our favorite times every week, because we can all spend time together. It is routine on Fridays that we get up and make a big breakfast or sometimes go out to eat, and then Scott moves to the sofa to start his Quiet Time with the Lord.

Seth got a Bible from my grandparents last year and he has been showing interest in it lately.

After he saw Daddy move to the sofa, he started asking for his blue bible and wanted to read with Daddy.

"These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the door frames of your houses and on your gates." Deut 6: 6-9

And this is not spiritual at all... I thought the boys looked sweet looking at the dogs.

Party Pakistan Style

We have a family that has been visiting our church that is originally from Pakistan and they have become good friends. We enjoy their company so much and we were excited to be invited to a Halloween/Birthday party. Seth loved the dance floor. He pretty much stayed up there the entire time. Hmmmm... Now who does that sound like??? ;)

They had Pakistani food and it's not on my video, but the DJ played Pakistani music too. We had a great time and hated to leave, but church was the next day.

Trick or Treat

We met up with some families from church and went to a happening Trick or Treat spot in Wake Forest. The Main Street in Wake Forest goes all out for Halloween. It was fun and all the kiddos had a blast!
Seth was Elvis and Levi was supposed to be a dinosaur, but it was blazing hot outside. I couldn't put him in costume, because he would be miserable. I found this old Easter outfit of Seth's that has a chicken on it, with legs that stick out and we went with that.
Seth's friend Nathan
Some of the gang went all out...Shaggy, and Office Fans will know what Josh is with the word book written on his face. Office fans will also recognize Pam and Jim there too. :)
This was our first stop and Seth's first real Trick or Treat experience. He tried to take about 6 pieces, but soon learned it was just one! :)

Levi not real sure what's going on

Seth and Avery were chauffeured down Main Street

Seth was not sure he wanted candy from a ghost.

The boys...Levi was tired of Trick or Treating, but our night didn't end there...more to come!

Emma's Birthday Party

Seth's BFF, Emma, turns three very soon and we celebrated her birthday a couple of weekends ago. I loved this party, because we were able to use our costumes for Halloween, and Seth has a great one this year. Grammy and Court were in Las Vegas a while back and they got this awesome costume while there. Poor Levi gets a hand me down... but he will get this awesome costume one day too! :)

I will say that we searched for an Elvis wig, but it $20 and we decided not to get it, because we knew Seth wouldn't wear it. So we found a mullet wig we could cut off for $5. It was a good call, because Seth wouldn't wear it.

Elvis is in the building
Levi didn't mind the mullet wig at all

The party was so fun and well themed. It was Carnival and the kids loved it. See Seth about to jump on Emma.
